February, 2007 - Received a letter of endorsement from the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP), the world's largest profssional packaging organization, which included a plea for their members to volunteer to reduce hunger.

June 21, 2006 - Catania, Italy, Presented “Shelf Life Modeling in Real Time and Real Conditions” at the Shelf Life International Meeting Symposium (SLIM 2006).

May 17, 2006 - Submitted Can We Reduce World Hunger by 50% in only Nine More Years?" to Food Technology for publication.

May 5, 2006 - Myrtle Beach, SC - Presented “Packaging: The Key to Economic Development, Both Here & Abroad”, Sustainable Packaging Symposium, VA/ Carolinas Chapter of IoPP.

May 1, 2006 - Submitted "Feeding the World - Opportunities Beyond Production" to IUFoST for publication.

July 15, 2005 - Presentation to Institute of Food Technologists Board of Directors on the importance of food technologies in reducing world hunger.

May 13, 2004 – Basel, Switzerland, K. S. Marsh presented “ Packaging/Transportation: A Key to Global Food Security” to Board of Directors of the World Packaging Organization.

March 11, 2004 – Zagreb, Croatia, K. S. Marsh submitted seminar " Agribusiness Packaging in Croatia”

December, 2003 – Dr. Marsh testified as an expert witness in a court case relating to food losses experienced in ocean transport between North and South America.

June 10-13, 2002, Dr. Marsh represented the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and was endorsed by the Institute of Packaging Professionals, at the World Food Summit:five years later, sponsored by the Food & Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the UN, in Rome, Italy.

February, 2002 – Publication of Subcommittee on Technical Specifications for High-Energy Emergency Relief Rations, Committee on Military Nutrition Research, Food and Nutrition Board, Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences, High-Energy, Nutrient-Dense Emergency Relief Food Product, National Academies Press, Washington, DC.

May 16, 2001 - Dr. Marsh left the Cryovac Chair and took leadership of the institute.

May 11, 2000 - Atlanta, GA - K. S. Marsh presented "A Program to Build Global Food Security", at the Institute of Food Technologists, Dixie Section.

October 5, 1999 - Sydney Australia – K. S. Marsh presented "Reducing Post-harvest Losses to Enhance Food Security" at the 10th World Congress of Food Science and Technology.

June 25, 1999 - Chicago, IL - K. S. Marsh presented "Fulfilling Appert's Dream: Using Technology to Insure a Secure Food Supply for the World's Population", at the Ceremony to induct past and present winners of the Nicholas Appert award into the Association Internationale Nicholas Appert. The Reception was held at the Institute of Food Technologists Annual Meeting.

October, 1997 - Dr. Marsh proposed formation of the Center for Global Food Security at Clemson University and organized a multi-disciplinary task force.

August, 1997 - Dr. Marsh joined the faculty at Clemson University as the Cryovac Chair - the first holder of the first endowed professorship of packaging science in the US.
